Wednesday, March 23, Emaus ELCA’s after school program and first communion class will present the Prayer Walk of the Passion at the church, 1925 Summit Avenue.
At 6:00 p.m., everyone is invited to Fellowship Hall for a full meal.
At 7:00 p.m. there will be a procession, beginning at the back circle drive, where the crowds shout “Hosanna” and wave palms, greeting Jesus and the live donkey making their entry into Jerusalem (circling around the field area of the church).
The crowd then enters the sanctuary to a changed mood. The time which precedes Jesus’ death is reenacted by the children, with the story being told through mime, narrated in English and Spanish. At the end, all are invited to the haunting experience of entering the tomb—a time for prayer and reflection.
